Baywood Village is a waterfront community in Palm Harbor, FL. At any given time there are several homes for sale in Baywood Village, and many of these are on the water, or have access to the community boat ramp which is for the use of any resident in Baywood Village 5. This was the final section developed in the neighborhood.
There are 417 homes in the entire Baywood Village community and in Baywood Village 5 there are 117 homes either on a canal or with rights to the neighborhood boat ramp.
The boat ramp has a floating dock and is bare minutes away from the open Gulf of Mexico, for a fun afternoon of boating, fishing or just floating and watching dolphins playing in the water.
There is a homeowner association and they host several events, including Halloween party for the children, an Easter egg hunt, neighborhood yard sale and more.
Things to do near Baywood Village
If you enjoy watersports, boating, fishing, skiing, the Gulf of Mexico off Baywood Village has it all for you. The grass flats of St. Joseph's Sound offer outstanding in-shore fishing, where you can catch redfish, speckled trout, flounder and snook almost year 'round. In the spring, there is the tarpon run and you can catch a 100 pound tarpon in only six feet of water, as long as you have fisherman's luck. Of head a bit off-shore for grunts, red and black grouper, snapper and plenty of other gamefish, most of which also are great eating.
If fishing is not for you, check out the inter coastal islands, like Anclote Key, with it's lighthouse wonderful empty beaches for you to explore. Just south of Anclote Key is Three Rooker Bar, which formed only in the last 20 or so years. It is a sand bar that is developing vegetation making it more stable. On weekends, boaters flock to Three Rooker for fun, even camping on the island. There are no facilities so bring your own potty. Also, no glass or pets are allowed on the island. The island is accessible only by boat, or jet ski, unless you are a really, really good swimmer.
Head a little farther south and there are Honeymoon Island and Caladesi Island off the coast of Dunedin. More on Dunedin another time.
For those who aren't rooted in watersports, there are lots of things to do on land, from golf at any of several very fine championship courses, including Innisbrook's Copperhead Course, home of the PGA's Valspar Championship in March. Historic downtown Palm Harbor has a huge Parrot Head Festival, in September, with lots of music, food, beverages and fun. There will also be about 10,000 of your closest friends attending the day long event.
Lots of restaurants in Palm Harbor, from the usual national chains to the true old Florida places, like Molly Goodheads or Thirsty Marlin. Peggy O'Neil's is also a fun place for friends to gather, have a beverage and good meal, and laugh a lot.
For the international experience, the Tampa International Airport is only about a 35 minute drive away.
Schools Near Baywood Village
The schools near to Baywood Village are excellent. Click on the link to find which schools any particular address in Baywood Village is zoned for. Sutherland Elementary School is the current public school for Baywood Village. Tarpon Springs Middle andHigh Schools are also zoned for Baywood Village. The high school is an A-rated school, and the Tarpon Springs High School band is 2014 Bands of American Grand National Performing Bands Champion.
